The road to happily ever after for Derrick and Jaymes was not an easy one. They had to fight and sacrifice to get what they wanted out of life. The ups and downs, the push and pull kept me coming back and begging for more.

Gah!! There is so much I want to say about this book, but I'm not going to. You just need to pick up this book for yourself. I am telling you, it is everything and then some. The Rebellion gave me so many feels and took me on an emotional and thrilling ride.

The Rebellion is not just a second chance romance, but also a story of true friendship and devotion. It is a story about hope and sacrifice. It is a story on the truest of loves and never giving up on your dreams. I loved seeing not only Derrick and Jaymes' story come full circle, but also The Hard to Resist Series itself. I loved every moment of this book and the series it is a part of and will never forget these swoon worthy rockers....

The Rebellion by S.L. Scott is a standalone novel that ties into the the world brought to us by the Hard To Resist series and the fifth book released that deals with the band members of the rock band aptly named, The Resistance! This book is about one of the newer band members, Derrick and his first and only love he left behind, Jaymes, in order to seek out his dreams of being a rock star.

Derrick is five years out of his old life of danger, this, gangs, and trouble. Five years away from the only girl he has ever loved but despite the nameless bodies he's used over the years, he cannot get her out of his head. His apathy is starting to show, however, and his band mates are getting concerned that he will burn out and it won't be pretty. Smartly taking their advice, when the tour is over he goes back home and learns that his wonderful mother has been in recent contact with her old best friend, who just happens to be Jaymes' mother. God bless her interfering soul, he may have just the in he needs to get to see her again for the first time in years.

Jaymes, Jamie to everyone but Derrick, has not had it easy since he left her five years ago. She knows it was best - obviously - he is a rock star now. He made it. His dreams came true. But the life she has lead since has been hard. For her, her mother, and her young son. When she sees Derrick again her walls are up and she isn't ready to let him in. Never mind that she is the one that pushed him away back then. Forced him to leave her to pursue his dreams while sacrificing her own. Plus she is in danger, and so is he. The "friend" he left in his dust is out for blood and will take his vengeance from whomever he can.

Powerful, emotional, this story runs the gamut of emotions from behind the scenes in the Rock Star world to behind closed doors in a dangerous neighborhood with predators out for blood. Standalone, told in dual POV with some familiar faces as secondary characters. Well-paced and well-written, I love S.L. Scotts work and haven't read enough of her by far (downside to a blogging/reviewing schedule sometimes). This was fabulous! Enjoy!
Derrick Masters made me feel things.

SL Scott wrote some of the best chemistry. These two characters made my heart beat faster whenever they were together.

Derrick and Jaymes have an 8 year history, three together and five never forgetting each other. They have struggled together and apart. This story is about friendship, love, loyalty, and trust and a story that will stay in my heart for a long time to come.

Derrick is a Rockstar, a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks who makes it big, but not without sacrifice, namely Jaymes. Jaymes sent him away in order to save him, but lost her heart and her soulmate when he went away. Derrick never knew the truth and never got over her. Five years later, he returns home for a visit and is determined to win Jaymes back. One look at her and he knows he made a mistake not coming back sooner to the girl he has always loved, his soulmate, the woman who completes him.

There are many things that will stand in their way, especially one Reggie Rogers who is determined to keep them apart. Can Derrick and Jaymes finally get their happily ever after, or are they destined to live their lives apart.

This story grabbed my heart and never let go. SL Scott is a wonderful storyteller. If you have not read this series, you need to pick them all up! I guarantee you will fall in love with her characters just like I did.
