This is like no other dating book I have ever read. So much great advice with such humor and class. I couldn't put it down. Really great read.
A wonderful dating guide...for singles. I personally enjoyed the authors take on dating and relationships. The book was filled with lots of wisdom, advice, and humor from real people sharing their personal dating experiences. I recommend this book to all singles looking to get back out into the dating world.
This is a very informational and well thought out book. Coming from a fellow single person, I can relate to this book in so many ways. Not only does it have surveys and thoughts from both sexes (allowing you to see from their perspective), but it also gives clinical reasons for change in relationships and tells how to resolve those things that cause conflicts. Before I finished the book, I already had a list of people I wanted to buy it for. I highly recommend adding it to your self-help read… even for married couples.
I read this book having pretty much given up finding a life-long companion. I’ll be 50 this year and have experienced all types of men in my dating life; the stalker, the clinger, the woman-hater, the married but looking guy, the high school reunion guy, etc. Ms. Vincent addresses each of these characters and expounds on what brings them to us, or what leads us to them. I can really identify with many of the dating scenarios, One guy from work talked about his foot fungus, another guy from work always brought his drunk buddy along on all of our dates, an chance run-in at the dog park led me to another co-worker who turned out to have severe mental issues and was a control freak. I had begun to think these were my only choices in life.

When I turned 40 and realized children were never going to happen for me naturally, I decided to start traveling by myself and doing things I loved. One included a tornado chase, which included many boys right out of high school and certainly nothing remotely connecting. But I realized, albeit with lots of tears, I don’t need a man to entertain me, I don’t need to settle. I just hope the guy that missed out on some adventures might find me and realize it is never too late to start over. My standards have changed over the years but I think I’ve used that list of what I’m looking for and stuck with it.

The author really brought home some reminders of how hard it is for both sides but as I get older, I find myself more relaxed, more open to learning about people and having intelligent conversations. It really is not about jumping into bed, it’s about jumping into their head and learning. Listening is a tough skill to take up but it helps in the quest.

So I highly recommend Drama Free Dating! Save yourself the stress and uncertainty and read how to pick up those signs. It’s too bad a nice 50-year old man chooses to focus in on the 20s crowd because they don’t know what they are missing in their own age group!
